Raising Money For Irelyn

This year's first hoop gathering is on June 18th (details can be found on previous post) and 50% of all proceeds made from hoop making classes and hoop sales will be donated to Irelyn and her family. I recently found out that a friend of mine from my Natural Minded Mommies group needs to raise money to help her daughter, who has a brittle bone disorder called osteogenesis imperfecta. Irelyn's grandmother is hiking the Appalachian Trail to raise money, and has made a slide show on slideshare (below). You must register to vote, but it only takes a few seconds, and then you can vote on Irelyn's slide show--if she wins, the family will receive $5,000 to help make Irelyn's backyard handicap accessible. Then Irelyn will be able to get the Princess Castle swingset that the Make-A-Wish foundation has donated. This is SUCH a worthy cause. Little Irelyn is a sweet little cutie and her family is wonderful.

First Hoop Gathering of 2009!!

So, I've done it! I've managed to crawl out of the chill of winter, pull my mud sucked boots of spring from the mire and, together with the Natural Minded Mommies group, organized a Mad Hoopers Gathering!!

On June 18th at noonish, we shall all meet at Clayton Ely Emig Park in Hallam, PA ... and hoop the day away!!

• There will be jugs of water to keep you all hydrated and happy, but please bring a water bottle to fill and some lunch or snackies if you need.
• I will have a ton of hoops there of different shapes and sizes for all to borrow or even buy if you like.
• If the demand is there, I may be running a hoop making clinic for $25, and you get to take the hoop home. That should start around 1pm.
• About every hour or so, I'll be running informal basics of hooping classes
